Drapers Mills is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and we expect our whole
school team, including school Governors, staff, volunteers and our parents and carers to share this commitment.
This allows our children to feel happy, safe and ready to learn. We ask you to support us by telling us if there is something
going on outside of school that may have an impact on them during the school day.
If you have a safeguarding concern then you can speak to Mrs Purdy for help and support.
If she is not available you can ask to speak to any of our safeguarding team.
What is Safeguarding?
Safeguarding covers a wide range of activities and actions taken by a number of different people and agencies.
By ‘Safeguarding’ we mean:
- Protecting children from abuse and maltreatment
- Preventing harm to children’s mental and physical health or development
- Ensuring children are provided with safe and effective care
- Taking action to enable all children to have the best possible outcomes
Safeguarding is about keeping children safe at all times. Child protection is part of safeguarding and promoting welfare. It refers to activity undertaken to protect specific children who are suffering, or are likely to suffer, significant harm.
Our full safeguarding policy can be found on our policies page
